No Progress at 13/15 Hawthorne Crescent
UPDATE 16 June 2026.
Still no activity at the blank site that was 13/16 Hawthorne Crescent. This is after three months but that is how the builder works. They flatten a site then do nothing for months. So the local community just has to sit there and wit for the bedlan to begin on more overpriced unnecessary houses.
In case you query the unnecessary part, I believe there are still houses empty in the older Wolfbrook development and in the clump at 64 Glen Road.
If you count the 16 empty properties at the bottom of Tawhai Street you wonder why more housing is not affordable. I suspect them sitting empty is no worry for property investors who write them off to tax.
These are recent pictures and, as at the end of May there has been no activity at the site.
This is par for the course with this developer who demolishes the buildings then sits on their hands for months (not enough staff to the projects they may be committed to I guess).
For the record this is how things have stood since 13th March 2026. I assume they do not have the official go ahead on their dull, very expensive (aka hard to afford but perfect for property investors), gardenless 'made from a kit' 'family homes' (with, maybe, a single parking space and a cute 'entertainment area of tidy concrete.)
