January 2026 Update

Sadly we still have the nightmare lights blasting out of the corner of the Tawhai Street development so sadly any pressure from the excellent people at Bayleys may not be working yet.

Desperate because a retailer over in the Wairarapa told me that bright lights encourage exhaustion in day time birds who stay awake longer. Se said to ask the Council of South Wairarapa who recently were awarded Dark Sky status. 

If I do not hear anything by February I will draft a letter to Mayor Ken Laban.

127 Stokes Valley Road

A single house on a narrow section has been demolished. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the coming months.

The property drive exits on to a busy main road and if several houses are built there I look forward to see how how they manage to get in and out ;-) 

15/17 Hawthorne Crescent

Fencing (ramshackle as usual) has gone up around the vintage property and its neighbour. Let's see what happens next. Having paid over $1,000,000 NZ for this 11950's handsome property we wait with baited breath.
