The Finishing Straight

The unholy din the local community has endured since June 2024 is tailing off. On the whole.

Sadly, I can still stand on my deck and see into the middle of the 'development' and everything that goes on there. That is going to be so much fun when cars come and go and their headlights sweep across the gap. I believe they think it gives residents access to some greenery - fun when I will stand on my deck and watch them.

Here's a couple of previews:

The Fence Debacle

After some concerned emails from myself and our neighbours and Urban Plus, a compromise has been erected which raises the fence and makes access to our properties difficult. Except for the right-hand end of our fence beside the Black Mairie tree but that may be too tall to climb from the other side (maybe). It will take several years for the trees planted to grow tall enough to block the windows.

My neighbours are unconvinced the fence will keep people out. We shall see. It's bad enough having a row of five extractor fans facing us. I am not sure how noisy they are.

The erection of the fence might have been a cause for celebration but our boy Thomas, a lovely gentle tuxedo, passed suddenly from a blood clot and celebrating was not on the agenda. The problem of access via the unfenced corner remains.
