The Walls are Rising

After months of endless noise and the intervention of an Infringement Notice for starting too early work with their concrete monster, has continued at a more moderate noise level.

5th of November saw the arrival of the first of the kit assemblies for the walls. This is only the first level, there will be two more. I have no idea what the residents of Tawhai Street think of their mini tower blocks.

After the intial asembly the noise has moderated a bit. Not so bad but,,,,

Most people seem to accept what is happening. I will continue to monitor progress. This erection looks very close even though it is against the far wall. How small these houses will be remains to be seen :-)

The scene (below) before they began to erect the walls. The patch of concrete below is the one causing me some concern. This is the only patch of unbuilt ground where they aim to put a 'cycle rack' and picnic table.

This is a worry as I do not see any option for a fence and there is nothing between our garden and this corner. Will we find ourselves with uninvited guests?

Overly tall two storey walls and worse to come. What that is remains to be seen.
