109 Stokes Valley Road

There is a lovely house that I pass that has been for sale for a short period of time. 109 Glen Road.

It goes back quite a way as you can see from the first snapshot I took. A basic house plus what looks like an extension. Apparently it is on the market for the first time in 50 years. WOW!

I hope that it has been purchased by a someone, not a 'developer' as the garden is stupendously well established. Apparently, it has raised beds out the back and, at the front, a glorious rhododendron bush that must be 20+ years old at least and an absolutely sensational Magnolia just behind it.

You can understand my concern that all this could be destroyed by a heartless developer who doesn't care about anything but razing areas to the ground. Losing this genuinely glorious garden would be criminal.

Close to the front wall, which looks original to when the house was built, there are lovely rockery plants that are utterly charming and very well established.

Even with estate agent's hyperbolic 'waffle' this is a wonderful and real home. I hope it stays that way.
