Fun and Games with the Vibrating Roller
This is fun. They are outlining the houses that will tower over the people at 10 Tawhai Street.
There is also a small development immediately to the other side of them. I have no idea if they are happy or not. I hate the builders and I am taking steps to provide a substantial screen of trees and shrubs.
I am guessing that the people at 10 have a garage and fence between the house and them and they might be happy with that. Taking the local community for granted seems acceptable to developers, builders and maybe be even Hutt Council, so who knows.
The Loud Building Roller
Best of all, the deafeningly loud vibrating roller is back and, of course no-one at Friday Homes did is the courtesy of telling us nearby that it was coming. This is par for the course. They don't really care about the local community why should they. Courtesy in the building industry - unlikely.
Special treat, this is the view across the back fence!
The small houses are facing 'ever so slightly' away from our gardens. Although whether or not this will be effective I am not at all sure. Summer 2024 already looks like a complete write off of as horrifically noisy and hellishly loud.
This is the reason for the extensive planting scheme currently begun on our side of the fence that, in a few years time, will provide a solid wall of solid green.
Yes, it is as close as it seems. They only need to leave a metre between the house and the fence.
This is happening all over New Zealand. Builders cram characterless, cramped houses into very small sites. Many of them do not have parking spaces even though Stokes Valley only has a limited (but regular) bus service.
I can't see people paying $700,000 (like the very small houses on Glen Road) not having at least two 'he and she' cars. Can you?
