Developer News

I have news about who the developer is and who is doing the work. I was mistaken! The post I found online is misleading.

The developers are still Urban Plus (who are a good company). The work is being done by Friday Homes currently building quite expensive homes along Glen Road, and will be for some time.

This is the same Friday Homes who park so well on Glen Road...

and who ensure good pedestrian traffic flow...

and create lovely patio doors ovelooking the neighbours garden. 

Unfortunately (as well) the tremendous amount of noise is the same with the addition of a radio fighting against the sounds of the diggers. This noise is shared by everyone with developments inflicted on them across the whole of the Hutt Valley, it is not unique to Tawhai Street. 

• I have an option for a noise complaint with Hutt Council but this can wait until I can actually spend time outside. 

Garden Destruction

I thought my frustration about the destruction of gardens and the concreting over of large areas of land was just me being frustrated. Can you blame someone for watching 20 year old fruit trees (which could benefit the community) being uprooted but, it seems I am not alone. 

I saw a comment on Facebook from someone else who expressed concern at the lack of care for the environment but I am guessing concreting over entire sections is cheaper.
