Car Park
Sadly, it seems that the diggers and lorries are parked for the forseeable future against our fence. A constant reminder of the stress so many Hutt folks are under daily.
This means that not only to we get their invasive noise for 8 hours a day (with half an hour off for lunch) they tower over the fence overnight. Oppressive - maybe? As for a token apology for the noise - we can dream.
Shame they refuse to move it. It might be nice to just pretend for a few hours at a time (as every Hutt Valley resident subject to this unpleasant experience might agree) that they had gone away.
I wondered about asking for a rates rebate for the next two and a half years (as half of our house and the garden is unusable 6 days a week during daylight hours) but I think if every affected resident did this the Council would go bankrupt.
Trees as a Screen
I am hoping that our lovely Pitosporum trees continue their healthy growth and I will eventually have a full screen of green between me and the 'development'. This is one tree just after it went in. This is two years ago and it has doubled in size! I think they may eventually be much wider, so patience is key!
If you need a health well grown tree I recommend Leafland near Palmerston North. Excellent health specimens. Beautiful trees and a huge variety for gardens large and small.
